Uber drivers: making work visible

Project proposal · Geneva drivers

Help Geneva Uber drivers collect their own Uber data to document working conditions, idle time and earnings.

The project supports Geneva Uber drivers in requesting and understanding their personal data from Uber. Together, drivers, researchers and labour organisations can examine trips, time connected, idle time between rides and earnings, where the available records permit. Drivers' own accounts and voluntary work diaries can help identify gaps: platform exports may not capture all working time or costs. Participants retain control of their data; sharing is voluntary, and any collective publication should protect drivers and passengers from identification. The aim is evidence that drivers can use to describe and discuss their working conditions, not a claim of findings already established.
