AI & personal data

Your data on AI platforms

Project proposal · Learning across Geneva

Help Geneva academics, students and the general population collect and understand their data from artificial intelligence platforms.

The project brings Geneva academics, students and residents together to request their personal data from artificial intelligence platforms and interpret the exports they receive. Workshops can compare conversation histories, account information and usage records where available, and distinguish what an export reveals from what remains unknown about retention, profiling or model training. Educators and researchers help make these questions accessible without requiring technical expertise. Participants should keep raw exports private by default: prompts may contain sensitive research, student information or details about other people. Any shared analysis requires explicit agreement and careful removal of identifying information. The aim is a common understanding of AI platform data practices, not an assumption that every platform provides the same records.
